This painting is part of my continuation of exploring color while experimenting with the layering of my brushwork and combining some of the elements I use in my sketchbook to create fun snapshots of people’s lives. Although my paintings primarily are portrait-based, I like to jump around with my approach as a means of curiosity and exploration. My goal with my portraiture paintings is to move them beyond a standard portrait and into something “more”.
