December darkness inspires our festivals of light. Snow falling in the still air refracts the starlight. 1000+ cells in a grid could be rigid and static but instead the complex pattern of seven colors flickers as the iridescent and metallic colors reflect the ambient light; each cell as individual and unique as snowflakes.
