From a tender age, I commenced my artistic journey by creating my first strokes. I was always motivated and carried a notebook in my school backpack. Eventually, I enrolled in an art school where I received professional training and valuable content. Following my graduation, I spent a considerable amount of time as an art teacher at the same institution, where I had studied, and assisted in training upcoming artists.
However, the limitations imposed on artists in my home country, such as inadequate resources and opportunities, posed numerous challenges to my career. The process of migrating to a foreign country, unknown to me, but full of opportunities, further set me back, as I had to establish myself, earn a living, and create connections that would assist me in pursuing my career in the future. Despite these impediments, I persevered in my passion and remained focused. As a result, I have built a portfolio of clients who appreciate my work, and thanks to the galleries I have collaborated with, I have gained significant exposure and expanded my reach.
My works have been prominently featured in a variety of prominent art publications, including a mention in El Mundo, a respected Spanish newspaper. Alongside this, I have cooperated with galleries across multiple nations, and my art has been included in various prestigious international exhibitions and fairs, including Scope Miami, Scope NYC, CHACO in Chile, and Paris, among others.
José's Statment
"The fundamental elements of environments, shapes, figures, colors, open spaces, and small details have been a persistent source of fascination since the inception of my career. Capturing the reality that surrounds me or exploring the depths of my mind to later express it on canvas or paper is of paramount importance to me. I am an ardent admirer of the beautiful facets of life. My objective is to provide the observer with a glimpse into my personal life, enabling them to escape from their daily routine and to embark on a journey through different scenes, moments, and worlds, or simply reminisce about a nostalgic memory."
