Marius Ritual (American, b. 1972) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, digital art, moving image, sound, and installation. Their practice centers on magick as a medium, involving ritual process, transformation, and self-invented spiritual technologies. Ritual creates standalone sonic environments, as well as sound art that accompanies moving-image works composed from layered digital imagery, glitched and remade through iterative transformation. His paintings arise from deep contemplation and conversation with the beyond. Ritual’s work is sensory, contemplative, experimental, and transgressive.
