Jonathan Kitenda
Jonathan Kitenda (born July 7, 2002) is a Congolese visual artist whose practice stems from an early fascination with form and material. At 11, he began building cardboard models using recycled packaging. His work combines drawing, painting, collage, and object installations, exploring memory, identity, and transformation.

Trained at the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa (2017–2021), Kitenda developed a personal visual language inspired by memory and collective experience. He later deepened his practice in the studio of Gaël Maski, embracing conceptual approaches and contemporary issues.

In April 2025, he joined the “Le Regard 2” residency at NAC Studio in Kinshasa. In June 2024, he co-created trophies for the NAC Festival and performed a live painting piece exploring memory as cultural heritage.

Kitenda established his presence in the local art scene during the Le Regard residency at NAC Studio (2025). His work—conceptual and material-driven—takes shape through performances, recycled installations, and layered visual compositions.
