"If you can describe what you intend to paint, consider whether words alone might be sufficient." I heard this reflection many years ago, and it accompanies my work to this day. I work intuitively on a painting, but I don't allow the painting process to get out of control. I am a painter interested in the existential presence of humanity in space. I realize my ideas and reflections through figurative compositions, still lifes, and interiors. The paintings don't strive for a clear-cut conclusion. They leave room for the unhurried, contemplative reflection of the potential viewer.
