Anna Tasheva
I believe every painting begins long before the first brushstroke. Mine began the day I left home. My art grew out of a personal search for strength, belonging, and inner calm. After moving alone to the United States, painting became my refuge and a way to express emotions I could not put into words. I work mainly in oil, creating expressive animal portraits, landscapes, and figurative works. Inspired by resilience, nature, movement, and emotion, I use bold color, texture, and light to create paintings that feel alive and give the viewer a sense of peace, connection, and hope.

Self-taught artist. I have developed my artistic practice through various painting courses, workshops, and independent study, with a strong focus on oil painting, color, composition, texture, and light. I also studied with American landscape painter and instructor Kevin Hill, whose guidance helped me strengthen my technique and deepen my understanding of atmosphere, depth, and expressive brushwork.
